1. About BYN
BYN ("Bet Your Nuts") is a play-money sports prediction platform operated by SouthScale (in incorporation) ("we", "us", "our"), accessible at bynapp.online and through our mobile applications.
By creating an account and using BYN, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
2. Eligibility
You must be 17 years of age or older to use BYN. This requirement exists because BYN contains simulated gambling content, which is age-restricted under Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies.
By confirming your age at registration, you confirm you are 17 or older. We reserve the right to suspend accounts where we have reason to believe this requirement has not been met.
BYN is available worldwide subject to local laws. It is your responsibility to ensure that using BYN does not violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
3. Your account
3.1 Registration
You may register using your Google account (Apple Sign In will be available in a future update). By registering, you grant us permission to receive your name and email address from your chosen provider.
3.2 Display name
Your display name must:
- Be unique across all BYN accounts
- Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or abusive language
- Not impersonate another person or organisation
We reserve the right to change or remove display names that violate these rules.
3.3 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Since BYN uses OAuth (Google), your account security is also governed by your Google account security settings. Report any suspected unauthorised access to support@bynapp.online.
3.4 One account per person
You may only hold one BYN account. Creating multiple accounts to gain referral bonuses or other advantages is prohibited.
4. The BYN platform
4.1 Play-money only
All credits on BYN are called "nuts". Nuts:
- Are awarded free at the start of each round (1,000 nuts)
- Can be earned through ad views (up to 1,000 nuts per round)
- Can be received via referral bonuses (500 nuts)
- Have no monetary value at any time
- Cannot be exchanged, redeemed, transferred, or sold for real money, goods, or services
4.2 How markets work
BYN uses a Logarithmic Market Scoring Rule (LMSR) to set and move odds. Opening odds are seeded from real bookmaker data at the start of each round and then move automatically based on user bets. The price you see when placing a bet is the price locked in for you.
4.3 Minimum commitment
You must stake at least 50% of your total balance before each round locks (1 hour before the first event). If you do not meet this minimum, the shortfall is forfeited. You cannot lose more than 50% of your balance per round through forfeiture.
4.4 Round lockout and settlement
Markets lock 1 hour before the first event in a round. No bets can be placed or changed after lockout. Results are settled once events complete. Postponed fixtures result in a full refund of the staked amount.
4.5 Seasons
Each competition runs its own season. At the end of a season, all balances reset to zero and leaderboards reset. No balance or advantage carries over between seasons.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use BYN for any commercial purpose or on behalf of a business without our written consent
- Attempt to manipulate markets through coordinated or artificial betting
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with BYN
- Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
- Create multiple accounts to exploit referral bonuses or other promotions
- Post, share, or transmit offensive, hateful, or illegal content through BYN's social features
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the BYN platform
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
6. Private leagues
When creating a league on BYN:
- League names must comply with our display name standards (no offensive language)
- New leagues require approval before they become active
- We reserve the right to close leagues that violate these Terms
- You are responsible for the conduct of members you invite to your league
7. Referrals
The referral programme gives 500 nuts to both the referrer and the new user when a referral code is used at signup. The referral bonus:
- Only applies to genuinely new user registrations
- Cannot be exploited by creating multiple accounts
- May be modified or ended at any time with reasonable notice
8. Advertising
BYN may display advertisements within the platform. The "ad boost" feature lets you earn up to 1,000 nuts per round by watching short ads. This is entirely optional. Advertising content is subject to the standards of the relevant ad network.
9. Premium features
BYN may offer optional paid features (such as additional league slots). Where paid features are available:
- All prices will be clearly displayed before purchase
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe
- Purchases are for virtual platform features only — they do not entitle you to real-money winnings
- Refund requests are handled in line with applicable consumer law
10. Intellectual property
All content on BYN — including the name, logo, design, code, and text — is owned by SouthScale (in incorporation) or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from BYN content without our written permission.
Your display name and any content you submit remain yours, but you grant us a licence to display them within BYN.
11. Disclaimers
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to BYN
- Odds and market data are provided for entertainment purposes only and should not be used to inform real-money gambling decisions
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party sports data used to seed markets or settle rounds
- Virtual nuts have no value and their loss does not constitute a financial loss
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SouthScale (in incorporation)'s total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of BYN shall not exceed £50.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or loss of profits arising from your use of BYN.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
13. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, we believe your account is being used fraudulently, we are required to do so by law, or we decide to discontinue BYN.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@bynapp.online. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in line with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of BYN after that date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
